Finally we've found an operator in the airport transfer world who has the same no-compromises attitude to customer service as do the team at Chalet Kiana.
I met James from Deluxe Transfers at the chalet this week and saw his brand-new Mercedes van (that can't be the right word; I'll have to look at Mercedes-Benz's website to see what they call their 7-seat, extended wheelbase, 4-wheel drive, leather-lined luxury...people carrier?). It was so nice I wanted to buy it off him there and then; luckily I couldn't afford it. So, I decided to haggle instead!James didn't feel the need to join in, so my haggling was fairly short-lived. There's obviously too much money flying in to Geneva every day for him to be interested in offering me any more than a 10% discount on his standard €200 fare from CK to GVA. Anyway, 10% is better than the proverbial kick in the...teeth, so we settled at that.
Needless to say, I pass that discount straight on to our guests. That's €30 each way if you split it by 6, which is pretty good when you consider I paid that much for a ride on the SAT bus from Le Fayet to GVA the other day. And I certainly wasn't sitting in a luxury Viano (M-B add an 'i' and an 'o' to make it sound better!) and that was after walking down to the Tourist Office from the chalet and catching a €5 ride down to Le Fayet. So James, who collects you from the chalet or waits for your delayed flight at the airport and delivers you and your five co-travelers door-to-door is actually €5 cheaper than the SAT bus.
Let's hope he doesn't read this blog or his prices will be heading North faster than his Viano!
